Dog harness for size S
Conker leather and solid brass for this small and valuable harness.
5/8" dee and 1/2" buckle, rolled part (the shoulders one) is made with a thinned 5/8" strap and filled with a fine but strong braided rope.
The hue difference between the flat parts and the rolled one is because "rolled is rolled": same leather, but rolled is stretched during the sewing process as well when passed through the rein rounder.

I'm finally back to work after the summer pause. In the meantime I've reorganized both home and workshop, now more bright and spacious.
Anyway, this is a new Gogue-Margot made for Rita: black leather, stainless steel and nickel plated brass hardware, new poly rope.

Dark havana bridle with Flash noseband
My latest work and last one for this summer, a Hunter-size (or XL Full) bridle with raised browband and noseband, Flash-type noseband. Here it's displayed on my horse, a reason more to be proud of it!
It shows some features I've never used on bridles......starting from browband, raised and showing a green accent but not padded as I used to do when a color accent was needed.
Crownpiece is different, too. Apart being padded with dark havana leather, I've punched two holes for allowing the noseband strap to pass on the outside, not directly on the poll.
Actually browbands for this bridle are two: one with green accent and one with blue accent. Here's a detail of the Flash noseband and bit billets.

Girth strap with green accents
It completes the set composed by this bridle and this collar breastplate.
It's the first girth strap I make and it's a long time I wait to attempt. The principle is the same I've used on the breastplate: the green skin is too thin for whole padding (and I feared in an odd result, too), so I kept it only for the color accents, much more protected from wear.
Detail of the 1" stainless steel buckles stitched on 1" 1/4 elastic band.
Here's a detail of its back, too.
Making this had been fun and very instructive: I started from the main body, made out from panel hide and neoprene. During the cutting session I had to consider how produce a nice and effective cutout shape.
Then I applied the padding, my usual neoprene foam sheet, keeping borders free from that so I could stitch them together in a nice way.
After preparing the 4 buckles coupled with elastic band, I made the green details and glued them together with the center stap and assembled all the parts using green thread, as on other items from this set. Once finished, I stitched the two pentagonal "tops" and, voilà ! My first girth strap is done!
